Geneva Sound Systems

A new brand for us, though a brand we’ve had in our sights for some time now. It definitely fits the bill for Audio Elevation as we do like to be a bit different from the masses, if possible. This is lifestyle hi-fi at its best. Who wouldn’t want these systems in their home? We think everyone will, as do the UK arm of Geneva, who are placing it in such outlets as The Conran Shop and our very own Audio Elevation. Nice.

Geneva Sound SystemsModel range is simple – S, M, L, XL and XXL models – just like buying a shirt – just pick your size and off you go to the checkout.

Remember, these are all in one systems so include CD (where specified), ipod/iphone dock, amplifier, FM radio, speakers. Just one mains wire so no spaghetti out the back. Got another source (mp3 player, sky box etc)? That’s ok as there are additional inputs (3.5mm on all but also RCA on larger models) to cater for those too.

Fit and finish is superb, with gloss finishes, real woods, hand crafted manufacture all included as standard.

Prices from £299 to £2499.

That’s all for this time. Enjoy your system, whatever it is and, if we can help take it to the next level, just let us know.

We’re having a clear out this month – read on for the bargains…

But first…

Roksan K2 Deal

Roksan have won more awards than we’ve had hot dinners when it comes to their K2 range of amplifier, cd player and speakers. Peaking at £900 per item, these are now available at £750 per item, making them even more special. We’ve taken it one step further than that so, if you’re in the market for 2 of these items (eg amp and cd player, cd player and speakers), we’re doing them for £1400 for the pair, saving you another £100. No wait, there’s more!! Have all 3 (amp, cd player and speakers) and they can be in your home (UK shipping is free) for £1999 (saving £251!!). The hotline is now open on this but be quick!

(offer applies to Roksan K2 amplifier, K2 cd player, K2 speakers only and for a limited time at our discretion).

Roksan K2 Deal

Pro-ject Turntable Deals

Yes, more deals this month and it’s Pro-ject turntables and arms, together with superb Ortofon cartridges.

The Project Xperience X Pack includes the Project Xperience Acrylic turntable, Ortofon Rondo Red cartridge and a Project Speed box. The cost of buying these products individually would be £1275 but it is available as the X Pack for just £1050.

The Xperience 2 Pack consists of an acrylic Xperience with the Ortofon 2M Blue. At £775, you’re saving £155 against buying the items separately or, put another way, it’s like getting the 2M Blue for free.

Both the above mentioned packs come with the Project 9c tone arm which is included in the package. This alone has a price of £310 if bought individually so what a saving!

The final pack is the Xperience V Pack which includes the Xperience in acrylic, Ortofon Vivo Blue and the Project Evolution tone-arm. The individual cost of these items would be £1820 but this is available as the V Pack for £1000 so represents the best value of the lot. Wow!

Clearance Items

Spring cleaning time! We have collected a lot of demo kit, a few customer returns, the odd part ex etc. These tend to loiter about and don’t get advertised to the general public. However, there are bargains to be had, which is why it’s a good idea to sign up to this newsletter. If there’s anything here of interest, call asap to secure. Once it’s gone, it’s..well you get the idea.

Gershman X Cube (rrp £4700). Dem units, hardly used but about 3/4 years old. Gathering dust, which is a shame. Couple of nicks. In mahogany. Collection by sturdy men preferred. Inc boxes. Add £100 if you want them shipping.

February 2011 Newsletter – Firestone Audio, Quadral Loudspeakers and David Wiener Collection (DWC).

Firestone Rubby DAC/Integrated Amplifier

It seems we always have something nice to say about Firestone Audio and their latest Rubby DAC/Amp is a gem. Rubby (Ruby?) – Gem – geddit? Well, close enough.

It’s an upsampling/oversampling DAC with USB, optical and coaxial connections, linked to a 44W per channel class D amplifier All in one tidy cute case. No remote so you need to get up from the sofa once in a while. That’s the daily exercise class taken care of. All the Firestone equipment is small and this is roughly half-width of full size separates. We’re using it with the digital out from a CD player to good effect but it has the obvious use for those with computer audio desperate to listen in good quality.

The sound is quite airy and detailed, very likeable.

£685 is the price. Link to product details/pictures here

Order Now – direct from our website

Quadral Loudspeakers

Remember that name? Some of you will, we’re sure. Well, after a spell in the wilderness, they’re back in the UK with new distribution and Audio Elevation is the first to take them on.

View the Quadral Loudspeaker range here

Starting under £100 and covering many price points, the brand offers pure stereo speakers, together with AV packages, so these should find a wide audience. Nothing wrong with the way they look and, although we’ve not had them in yet, the sound promises a lot too. This could become a mainstream brand if all goes well so remember who told you about it first!

David Wiener Collection (DWC)

Well, we’ve saved the best until last and we’re not talking about the guy’s name!

DWC were commissioned by no less than Ferrari (yes, that Ferrari) to produce a pair of loudspeakers worthy of the famous Italian marque and, if you see the pictures of them, you’ll see how they managed to achieve that.

However, they also produce products that us mere mortals can consider. All qualify as hi-fi jewellery before you even switch them on. There’s the DWC Art.Station, Art.Suono, Art.Studio+ and Art.Solista, details of which can be found below

View the David Wiener Collection (DWC) here

Not much room here for explanation so have a browse and make your own mind up. Carbon fibre, aluminium, red “start” buttons like on a racing car…mmm….we like….

The reason for bringing these to your attention now is that they are being sold by us alone in the UK in VERY LIMITED NUMBERS. So, if you want to be different to everyone else you know, step forward with your curser hovering over the “Add to basket” button and we’ll do what we can to make sure you are one of the exclusive few.

That’s all for this month. As usual, thanks for your support and, any questions, please ask.

January 2011 Newsletter, feat. Olive 3HD, Roth Audio and VAT News.

Happy New Year to all and thank you for your support in 2010!

VAT Increase

As if you haven’t heard already, VAT went up to 20% on 4th Jan 2011. Our response? Well, so far, nothing. We’ve kept 2010 prices and will continue to do so for as long as we can.

That said, some manufacturers have put up prices regardless of the VAT situation so we’ll have to adjust some of our pricing to keep up.

The Olive is the size of a normal CD player yet has a hard drive onboard that will store all your CDs, which you then access via the touchscreen (includes album artwork etc) whilst all those bulky CDs gather dust in your loft. Simple to use, remote control, 1000s of internet radio stations, ethernet connection to your router and great sound quality too. £899 in black or silver funky finish.

Upgrade to the Olive 4HD and you get bigger hard drive, better quality recording and wireless connection to your router. £2200.

More money than sense? Get the Olive 6HD for the ultimate Olive experience but be prepared to spend £4600 for the priviledge.

Want multi room use? The Olive 2 Player picks up all the music held on your main Olive and plays it through the amplifier/speakers in another room. Or 10 rooms for that matter. £699.

Queue here…

Roth AudioMaybe you’ve heard of the Roth MC4 Music Coccoon? A valve amplifier/ipod dock for your desktop/small room system for reasonable money.

Did you know Roth also produce a range of tasty looking speakers too? Their OL range has been upgraded to the OLi range (no, we don’t think that means fuel injection either) in a range consisting of 5 models from £109 to £799. Check out the Roth range here

Audio Elevation on Facebook!

Look at us, all trendy and down with the kids.

We’ve never had a facebook page for Audio Elevation and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t, so now we have done one.  When you’re on Facebook, search “Audio Elevation” (yes, it’s not too original we know that) and, when you’ve found our page, just click “Like” in the same way as you would when your mates post an awful joke on fb.

That way, when we post something, you’ll be hearing about it immediately and it will relieve the boredom when you’re sitting on a train or having a conversation with somebody very boring (those are just examples – feel free to do other things too).

Ian tells me we’ll have special offers and that’s where you’ll find out about them.  That sounds like giving money away to me so it’s more likely you’ll hear about new products there, ex-dem items for sale or news of what’s happening in the world of Audio Elevation.

Stay tuned.
